About Tree Lovers

We all use tree products in our daily lives. From the paper we write on, to the wood used to construct our home. Unfortunately, most tree products come from clear cut forests. Clear cutting is when all of the trees in a specific area are cut down, causing loss of habitat for animals, hurting the local communities that depend upon the forest and contributing to climate change. Fortunately, there is a solution. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certifies forests to ensure that trees are grown in a biodiverse environment and strategically harvested in order to promote forest health and growth. Every time you purchase FSC certified products, you are preserving animals habitat, extending the livelihoods of the local population, and working to combat climate change.

Here at Tree Lovers, we are creating a mutual respect between humans and nature through conscious consumption. Because FSC certified trees are grown in a biodiverse ecosystem and selectively harvested, FSC ensures a level of sustainability that is unique to the forest industry. We believe that your dollars can drive a change. Look for the FSC logo, vote with your wallet for sustainability, and inspire others to purchase Forest Stewardship Council certified products to strengthen the industry of forest regeneration.

After the success of switching Dixie School District to FSC paper, we are embarking on a new journey. The task has been handed down to us students, sophomores in the Marin School of Environmental Leadership. We are currently working on switching the San Rafael City School District to FSC paper.
